From Innsbruck to the Zugspitze

Innsbruck has twice played host to the winter Olympics and is completely surrounded by mountains. The itinerary more or less follows the crest line and in its first part  you walk on good condition mountain paths but also alongside the area that is known locally as the Klettersteig. We would say via ferrata. Towards the North we discover the sheer rock faces where German climbers distinguished themselves between the two world wars. At the end of the journey we leave the Karwendel behind and enter the Wetterstein massif reaching the highest point in Germany. From here you can reach Garmisch by cog railway.
