Leave Leukerbad and head northward, climbing steeply up to the Gemmi pass or taking the aerial cable car. Continue along the right-hand bank of the Daubensee lake to reach Schwarenbach, the stage destination.

Gemmi Pass The name Gemmi appeared for the first time on a Swiss map in 1495. The Gemmi pass (2,314m) between the Daubenhorn and the Plattenhörnern peaks has for centuries been a well-known crossing from Leukerbad to Kandersteg. The Daubensee lake, supplied by a wide feeder stream from the Lämmeren area, has no visible water outlet. The canton of Wallis, and thus also the community area of Leukerbad, stretches far to the north. The Gemmi region has developed into a popular excursion destination. Bei schönem Wetter wäre es schade die Luftseilbahn für den Aufstieg zu nehmen. Der Weg ist gut zu gehen und beeindruckend, man kann sich gar nicht vorstellen wo sich bei diesen Felsen der Weg befindet.
