Discovering Via Alpina is a route aiming to show hikers and tourists the many themes leading to know the variegated alpine world (environment, history, culture and traditions)

The pilot projects, which project partners have developed in cooperation with various local actors in the area, propose different ways to interpret the alpine universe (e.g., traditional food and wine, ecomuseums’ heritage, flora, mineralogy and environmental teachings, making young people approach the mountains through hiking and open-air sports, education to peace, etc.).

The forts and castles along Via Alpina, on the other hand, suggest visiting the many fortresses in proximity of the routes in Italy, thanks to observation and discovery trails dedicated to history and legends which have animated the alpine arc.
