3 days / 2 nights
1st day: meeting at Ormea Viozene – guided hike on the Via Alpina up to reaching Mongioie refuge (1 h – height difference 300 m). Welcome and accommodation at the refuge. Typical lunch prepared with local products elaborated according to traditional recipes (Ormea’s small lasagne, wild boar, mountain cheeses). Guided hike by the refuge dedicated to mountain agricolture and the knowledge of the environment (2 h). Typical dinner with introduction to the products and recipes of the area (Caprauna turnip, presided over by Slow Food, Garessio chestnut, Raschera DOP cheese, buckwheat polenta, tultei, quiches and vegetable omelettes with mountain herbs, etc)
2nd day: hikes. Guided hike along the nature path equipped by Alta Valle Pesio e Tanaro Nature Reserve, visit of the spring of “Vene”, typical karst phenomenon, and to the overlooking Tibetan bridge. Packed lunch. Guided speleology tour with Alpine guide to the Vene Grotto (suitable to anyone, 1h permanence in the cave). Return to the refuge. Dinner and folk party with songs and dances around the bonfire.
3rd day: guided hike to a mountain hamlet with a visit to milk and cheese producers. Demonstration of processing and tasting. Farm lunch at the hamlet. Return hike to the place of departure.

The fee includes:
lunch on the 1st day of arrival, 2 full boards including dinners and typical dishes at the Refuge, guiding of an Alpine guide and sport gears needed for the visit to the caves.
